Sonna Rosén - Pair of Solfjädern chairs

A pair of Sonna Rosen´s chair “Solfjädern“. This is usually translated into “the Sun feather” but a “Solfjäder” is a fan (the type they use in Spain and Mexico). The chair was designed in 1948 and this pair is from the early production between 1948-1952.  Size: 75 cm (height), 56 cm (width), 53 cm (depth). Seat height 44 cm

Someone has been writing with a lead pencil underneath “Sitsarna omklädda 1952” (“The seats were re-covered in 1952”). The chairs have been professionally refinished along the road in a deep green color and also the seats have new upholstery. Some small signs of wear.

The Fan chair by Sonna Rosén was one of few Swedish furniture (alongside with Bruno Matsson) that reached international interest and acclaim. At the beginning of the 50´s it received the award Good Design by the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
